27 th ICOLD Congress Marseille, France
From 27 May to 03 June 2022 in Marseille, France has organized the 27th Congress of the International Commission for Large Dams (ICOLD).
During this event, they addressed some key issues as follows:
- Dams and Reservoirs, Challenges of tomorrow
- Innovations in concrete dam projects
- Incidents and Accidents at current dams
- Inspection, Instrumentation, Monitoring, and the process of data collection and processing
On May 29, 2022, the meetings of the 26 ICOLD Technical Committees were organized. At the meeting of the Technical Committee of Dam Safety, where the representative of Albania is a permanent member, three proposals were discussed for the preparation of relevant bulletins in the field of Dam Safety, Assessment and Management of Dam Assets and Risk Assessment as well as new requirements. of the World Bank in connection with the preparation of Dam Safety Plans for new dam projects and the rehabilitation of existing large dams
On 31.05.2022 was organized the meeting of the General Assembly was in which the new President of ICOLD was elected for the period 2022 – 2025. The new President was elected Mr. Michel Lino who is currently the President of the French Committee of Dams and Reservoirs (CFBR)
A team of ALBCOLD and Young Albanian Engineers Forum (ALBYEF) also participated in this event.
ALBCOLD team led by its Chairman, Mr. Arjan Jovani, during the days of staying in this event organized working meetings with the chairmen of the analogous Committees of Switzerland, Italy, Greece, and Spain where issues of future bilateral cooperation were discussed as well as the organization of activities common in the field of dams.
