Working Meeting with GRCOLD in Arta, Greece, 11 -12 April 2024

From April 11 to 12, 2024, in Arta, Greece, a working meeting was organized with the Committee of the Large Dams of Greece (GRCOLD).

In the meeting were the directors of GRCOLD, Ms. Rea Papachatzaki – President of GRCOLD, Ms. Sera Lazaridou – Board Member
to GRCOLD and President of EUROCOLD, Mr. George Dounas and Kostas Anastasopoulos – Member of the board and Honorary President of GRCOLD

On behalf of ALBcOLD, there was Mr. Arjan Jovani – Chairman, Mr. Llambro Duni, and Mr. Ermal Kacurri – Member of ALBCOLD

During the meeting, several main issues in the dam safety and control were discussed as follows:

1-The conditions of large dams in Albania and Greece

2-Organization of control of dams and related institutions in Greece and Albania

3-New developments in the sector of state control and monitoring of dams, needs and improving the organization of the sector of state control and monitoring of large dams and reservoirs

4-Guidelines and technical standards for monitoring and controlling dams

5-Possibilities of cooperation between GRCOLD and ALBCOLD in the future

Ne daten 12 Prill 2024 u organizua nje vizite pune ne digen e Pournarit qe ndodhet ne afersi te qytetit te Artes dhe ka nje lartesi 87 m. Kjo dige perdoret per prodhim hidroenergjie.

At the end of this visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between GRCOLD and ALBCOLD, based on which it was agreed to develop fruitful cooperation for the exchange of experiences in the field of safety and monitoring of dams, the organization of exhibitions for dams in both countries, the promotion of young dam engineers as well as the development of collaboration in the field of innovation in the dam sector and the process of monitoring with instruments the dams and reservoirs created by them.
